Danny Redshaw - Head Coach Danny has been the head coach at Lowndes since the 1998 season and also serves as the Vikings varsity football receivers coach. He has been named Region 1-AAAAA Coach of the Year 7 different times. His 2000 Viking team finished 34-4 and won the Georgia AAAA championship and voted the #2 high school team in the country by Baseball America. In 2000, Redshaw was named Georgia coach of the year, Baseball America's District III coach of the year, and was one of 8 finalists for national coach of the year. In Redshaw's 11 seasons at Lowndes, the Vikings have a state title, a state runner-up in 2001, 5 Final Four appearances, and 9 Elite Eight appearances in the state playoffs as well as 7 region titles, including 2005, 2006, and 2007. Coach Redshaw is on the Board of Directors and has served as a coach for Team Georgia. In 2004, Coach Redshaw was an assistant for the USA Baseball team in the Tournament of Stars in Joplin, Missouri. He is married to the former Lisa Bentley and they have 2 children - Caroline and Joshua. |
Joe Mederos - Assistant Head Coach Coach Joe Mederos came to Lowndes High School from Coffee County where he spent 8 years teaching Health and Physical Education and coaching Varsity Baseball and Football. Coach Mederos attended Hillsborough High School in Tampa, FL then attended Indian River Jr. College finally graduating from Valdosta State with a B. S. in Education and also earned a Master's Degre in Education from Troy State University. While at Valdosta State he was selected College All-American, All Conference, and won an MVP award. He also won offensive and defensive awards for baseball while at Valdosta State. Coach Mederos is married to the former Kathy Smith and they have 3 children, David, Brittany, and Chris. |
Ryan Page - Varsity Coach Ryan attended Middleburg High School in Middleburg FL, Graduating in 1997. He attended FCCJ on a baseball scholarship for two years, where he was first team all conference both years. He came to VSU on a baseball scholarship in 2000 and was captain for the blazers in 2001. Ryan graduated with his B.A. in Criminal Justice. 2001-2003 Ryan was the Graduate assistant with the Blazers where he was in charge of infielders, hitters and conditioning. In those two years VSU led the conference in fielding percentage. Ryan earned his Masters degree while coaching at VSU. A former Junior Olympic player, Ryan is now in his 4th year with the vikings. He is married to the former Ms. Kathleen Coleman of Jacksonville, Fl and they have a son Carson. |
Philip Pieplow M.Ed ATC/L Athletic Trainer Coach Pieplow is in his thirteenth year as Head Athletic Trainer for Lowndes High School. He teaches in the Health and Physical Education Department. Philip is a native of Valdosta. He graduated from Valdosta High School in 1992. In 1996 he graduated Cum Laude from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine. He received his Master's in Health & Physical Education in 2001. He is certified as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification, and he is licensed by the Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers to practice athletic training in the state. He is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association. Coach Pieplow's wife, Libby, is a physician's assistant for the Affinity Health Group in Tifton. They have a eight year old daughter named Bailey, and Addison 10 months. The Pieplow family is a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Valdosta. |
